Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

Hintly operates on a prepaid credit-based system. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued for credits purchased on the Hintly platform. By purchasing credits, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Credit Purchases

  • Credits are purchased in advance and represent interview minutes on the platform.
  • All purchases are processed in Indian Rupees (INR) through our authorized payment gateway.
  • Credits are added to your account immediately upon successful payment confirmation.
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts.

3. Free Trial

New users receive a complimentary 10-minute free trial valid for 7 days from account creation. No payment is required for the free trial, and therefore no refund applies to free trial usage.

4. Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered in the following circumstances:

4.1 Eligible for Refund

  • Technical Failure: If a paid session could not be used due to a verified technical issue on our end (e.g., server outage, persistent connection failure) that prevented the Service from functioning, you may request a refund or credit restoration for the affected minutes.
  • Duplicate Payment: If you were charged more than once for the same credit purchase due to a payment processing error, the duplicate amount will be refunded in full.
  • Unauthorized Transaction: If a purchase was made without your authorization and you report it within 7 days of the transaction.

4.2 Not Eligible for Refund

  • Used Credits: Credits that have been consumed during interview sessions are non-refundable.
  • Change of Mind: Refunds are not provided for unused credits if you simply decide not to use the Service.
  • User-Side Issues: Issues caused by your internet connection, microphone/audio setup, browser compatibility, or device are not eligible for refund.
  • Third-Party API Issues: Under the BYO Key plan, if a session fails due to issues with your own API keys (e.g., rate limits, expired keys, insufficient quota), refunds will not be provided.
  • Account Suspension: Credits remaining in accounts suspended or terminated due to violation of our Terms and Conditions are not refundable.

5. Refund Process

  1. Submit a Request: Contact us at support@hintly.ai with your account email, transaction ID, and a description of the issue.
  2. Review: Our team will review your request within 3-5 business days and may ask for additional information.
  3. Resolution: If approved, the refund will be processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days from approval. In some cases, we may offer credit restoration instead of a monetary refund.

6. Refund Amount

  • Refunds for technical failures will be proportional to the unused minutes affected.
  • Duplicate payment refunds will be for the full duplicate amount.
  • Payment gateway fees, if any, may be deducted from the refund amount as per the gateway's policies.

7. Cancellation

Since Hintly does not operate on a subscription model, there is no recurring billing to cancel. You may stop using the Service at any time. Purchased credits remain available in your account and do not expire unless your account is deleted or terminated.

If you wish to delete your account, please contact us at support@hintly.ai. Account deletion is permanent and any remaining unused credits will be forfeited.

8. Dispute Resolution

If you are unsatisfied with the outcome of a refund request, you may escalate the matter by writing to us at support@hintly.ai with the subject line "Refund Escalation." We will review escalated cases within 7 business days.

For unresolved disputes, the matter shall be governed by the laws of India and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
